Party Plan Games – New and old Games

Often a game can make a sales party a lot more fun and create a good atmosphere. Its important so explore some of the better games and entertainment methods


A good way to give your hostess extra incentive before the party. Draw a grid of 3 x 3 squares. Label each square with achievement levels like the samples below
Then for each completed row, give the hostess a gift. Plus a larger gift for an addition completed row, plus a bonus gift or discount if she completes the whole board.

You can adjust the levels to suit.


Tell all guests that there will be a raffle as they enter and give everyone a raffle ticket. (Extra tickets can be given for those who fill in and return a contact form).

Later point out that they need to ask you questions about your business or hostess plan to get extra tickets and the more questions asked, the more tickets are handed out, and the more tickets a person gets, the more chance of winning and that there will be a bonus question. When the bonus question is asked (“How much does an operator’s display kit cost”), make a big deal out of it and give the guest 10 tickets.
(they MUST raise their hand, and no one can ask more than one question at a time. There must also be someone else between each question)

After all questions are asked, you play a little game where you have 3 gifts, with the first ticket drawn getting to pick first, then next ticket picks one and then the last ticket gets to keep third prize OR swap it for either of the other two (so third ticket drawn might be the best one).

The Raffle and Ticket game allows everyone to learn about your business and have some fun too. Wrap up the game by telling everyone how much you enjoy your job and invite them to take a “More Info” pack if they are interested (have the packs ready right then). After you have wrapped up the party, be sure to speak to anyone who took a packet and/or take their details so you can keep in contact.


An excellent game for keeping your guests attention when you do your speel on the hostess benefits. All you will need is a deck or two of playing cards, and a mystery Gift
Tell the guests at the beginning of your party that whenever you say the word Free, the first person who yells out “Free Card”, will get a card. For added fun, you should give them the card face down, and tell them no looking. If they peek they must give back the cards.
Ensure you mention the word “free” as many times as possible throughout your demonstration. with phrases like:

A Hostess will receive $100 in FREE products when …
All this can be yours, “FREE”, when you….
when you get “FREE” time you can earn this for “FREE”?
Get a “FREE” …… with the purchase of …..
Becoming a Party Plan Operator yourself will give you the “FREE”dom to …..
If you dont know who yells out “Free Card” first, then give a card to all who said it. At the end of the demonstration the highest point scorer wins the prize.
Aces are worth 50 points – J, Q & K are worth 20 points – the other cards are woth face value only.


After introducing yourself, have your guests sit in a circle. Pass out some gifts or samples. You can either have one larger gift, or a few smaller ones (ideal if you have a large group)
Next tell guests that you’re going to read a story and every time they hear the word “Right” or “Left”, they will pass their gift in that direction.

You can modify this story to suit your own style.

Gadgets are great for simplifying our lives.
If you own a computer then you can add 5.

A watch is worth 6 and each ring gives you 2,
add 10 more points if you are wearing blue.

Count all of your buttons… each gives you 1
Except if they are white and then you get none.

1 point for each year that you have been wed,
But take away 5 if your shoes are red.

Now kids are great, on that we agree
So for each one you have you may now add 3.

Add 12 if you kissed your husband or boyfriend today,
If you kissed both, subtract 20, trouble’s coming your way!

Now we are almost done, but there IS just one more.
So hold on to your horses, don’t total that score.

Have the guests total their scores. The one with the most points wins a prize. If you have a large group, you may also want to give a prize to the one with the least points too


Give each guest a pen and paper and tell them to list a household item that they would love to get rid of. Then, have them list five reasons why they would get rid of it.

After everyone is done writing, say, “OK. that household item that you have written down, I want you to cross it out and replace it with your husband or boyfriend’s name.” When they in turn read back the sentence they must say: I want to replace (name of husband/boyfriend) because he is………………….. and list their reasons.

It’s a fun game and everyone loves it. The one that has the most outlandish answers wins.


Have each guest get a partner and stand back-to-back (no sisters or mother and daughters as partners). They cannot look at each other. Have them number a piece of paper 1-14, and ask the following questions. If there’s an uneven number of guests, have one stand back-to-back with you and play the game with her.

What color hair does she have?
What basic color is she wearing?
How many rings does she have on?
How many children does she have?
Is she wearing a girdle?
How old is she?
Is she wearing shoes or sandals?
What is her husband’s name?
Is she wearing buttons?
Is she wearing a watch?
Does she have nail polish on?
Does she have earrings on?
What is her favorite television show?
What color are her eyes?
Have them check answers after. The guest with the most correct wins.


Give each of the guests a piece of paper and a pen. Read the following poem. Give a prize to the person with the most points, and to the person with the least points!

This is a rather peculiar game
It really does not have a name
It’s simple to play as a game should be
You just do as you’re told, you see
So now if you’ll please give me your attention
We’ll put an end to this suspension
In the end, whoever scores the most
Will receive a prize of which to boast
Now since you’re all fashionable girls
Give yourself 5 if you have any pearls

Add 6 more for a curl on your head

Now count all your buttons, for each you get 2
And take away 1 for each button that’s blue

And why not take 10 for the green in your eye
10 more points for a rose on your clothes
Take away 5 if you forgot to wear hose
If your husband you kissed today – add 9
If you didn’t subtract 12 – you’re subject to fine

Holding an Open House Party Plan Party

One way to launch yourself as a new party plan operator, or to show a new range of products is to hold your own Open House Party. These are very easy to run, and have the potential to get you some new bookings and make new contacts.

Who to invite to a party plan sales party.

Invite family, friends, former hostesses and ask each of these guests to bring a friend. This will give you the opportunity to remind former hostesses you are still around and you can meet some new people.

Mystery Door Prizes
On arrival, give each guest a raffle ticket. Raffle ticket books can be bought quite cheaply from the supermarket or a newsagent. Additional tickets can be awarded for winning games, making a purchase, booking a party, and so on.

Lucky Door Prize forms
Make up a small questionnaire for your guests to fill in. Ask for their contact details so you can follow up any interest and send them all a “Thank You” note for attending your open house. Award an extra ticket to everyone who returns the questionaire.

The Party

Ending the Party

Invite everyone you know, even if you don’t know them particularly well. Some people may not have heard about your product brands or busisness name, or haven’t heard about them for a while, and would be happy to see new stock.

Make sure your guests know they don’t have to pay on the day. They can pay by credit card on the day, or they can pay by cash when the goods are ordered.

Types of Parties

Ghost Show

Set up a display in your hostess’ home or another central location. All items should include the item number and price. Leave catalogues and order forms for the customers.

This way you can make money while you are out holding another party or fulfilling family commitments.

This is also a great way to have a fundraiser party.

Baby Shower Party

Have a friend or family member host the party on behalf of the expectant mother. Invite the guests to bring a contribution towards gifts for the mum-to-be.

Run the party as normal, though you may want to throw in some baby shower games.

The mum-to-be would then be able to choose items using the money that has been given as well as getting the hostess gifts.

Housewarming Party

Your hostess has just moved into a new house, and now it needs to be stocked.

Invite the guests to bring a contribution toward gifts for the hostess or guest of honour (if hosted by a friend or family member).

Bridal Shower Party

Have a Party at Work! CRAN (Conference Room at Noon) or CRAW (Conference Room after Work) the choice is yours.

The guests bring their own lunch and you, the consultant bring dessert. Or stay after work an hour and shop `til you drop.

For the working woman who wants it all but has no time to shop. The hostess could post an invitation on the bulletin boards or use her inter-office memo. You can ship everything to the office!

Show in a Bag
This is similar to a Catalogue Party however, you include a bag with a few samples of popular products with the catalogues.

Invite your hostess to show the products when she shows the catalogue to her family and friends.

Christmas in the summer

Offer a Christmas in the summer show to allow guest to start shopping early. That way you do not need to worry about a product being out of stock or on back order.

Men Only show

Around the Christmas season men are always wondering what to get their loved ones. Have a men’s only show and allow the men to shop for gifts and let them know you will wrap each for him.

Naughty Night Gown Contest
Each guest brings their favorite night gown in a paper bag; and try to match the nighty to the guest.

Sitter Party
This is a great party to have, especially if your guest will have small children. Having a sitter present allows mom and dad to shop, undisturbed!

Ten to Midnight Party
A party late at night for the guests that can not make it early in the day.

Patio Party
Have a party outside on the patio, serve nice tall glasses of iced tea.

Desert Party
Have each guest bring a desert and share their recipes.

Chicken Party
Serve chicken Legs/wings etc. This is a great way to get know new neighbors. Invite people you don’t know or don’t know very well.

Weekend Brunch Party
A quick get-together over brunch! Bagels, donuts, a fresh pot of coffee. Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday morning. In an hour or two your party will be complete and the rest of the days is yours! Each guest who brings a goodie to share could receive a free gift.

7-Up Party
This is a fun theme, especially if your hostess is saying she doesn’t have many people to invite.
Do everything around the number 7. Have 7 people at the party (this can include the hostess), have 7 outside orders (or 7 items ordered through outside orders). Your hostess can server 7-Up for refreshments. During the party, offer 7 specials or give away 7 prizes. You could also play 7 games or demonstrate 7 different product


Put Christmas into your parties

Christmas time comes around very quickly. There are lots of gifts to buy and no time. Offer gift vouchers, Bring more joy to your parties at Christmas by change your display with some tinsel or decorations. Wear a Santa Hat, Arrange for some White Cristmas Slice or Fruit cake. Play Christmas music while guests enter. The stores offer free gift wrapping and personalized gift tags, why not you?
Have some products for those customers who dont want the hassle of ordering and getting it later. Include a Christmas treat such as a candy cane with your orders.

Offer Catalogue partys. Busy people can still see the products and buy conveniently
Offer gift vouchers. Offer to help the men with gift selection and offer gift-wrapping.Send out Christmas cards to your hostesses and offer to help with their gift buying.

Christmas is a good time to say “Thank You” to your regulars by hosting a party yourself

Christmas Wish List Service

As a Christmas promotion, offer your clients a “Christmas Wish List”.

Your clients would give you a list of products they would like. This could be done either by them writing out a list, or you give them a blank order form and they highlight items they would like.
Friends and family can then order gifts off this list to give as Christmas presents.
To make this shopping easy, in mid-November or early December, hold an Open House where families and friends can do their Christmas Shopping. Have the lists available as well as stock.

Offer your hostesses a “One Hour Christmas Party”. One hour is often easy to find, even at this busy time of the year.
Shorten your initial presentation to show the best selling items and Christmas specials. You may want to offer your hostess a special Christmas Gift or bonus for hosting one of these parties.
The one hour party is also great to offer to businesses to have at a lunch time.
