The Sydney Gift Fair - July

The GHA (Gift & Homewares Australia) presents the Sydney gift fair, Home and Giving trade fair annually each July. The Sydney July Gift fair is a trade only event for retailers, and the first Trade fair event of the Financial year as well as the first major city trade fair to show all the new seasons designs that will be the trends for the ensuing christmas and Summer period.

Retailers can order their Christmas stock at the July fair in confidence because importers still have time to get more stock manufactured if they have oversold new seasons designs at this fair, whereas after Melbourne fair it is simply too late to re-order.

From July 2009, the GHA's July Sydney gift fair replaces the September Gift fair as retailers were abandoning the September fair. (Perhaps because they were only able to order the leftover stock)

Where to Start

The Dome and Exhibition Halls, The Howie Pavillion, and other buildings at the Sydney Showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush together form a large close set of Exhibition Halls with registration and entry usually avaiable at both ends of the large main hall The Dome entry is right opposite its own railway station and surrounded by easy and over 600 free parking spaces for the early birds. Also accommodation in the area is cheap and close, so the entrance at the Dome to the Main Exhibition Halls at the Sydney Showgrounds Sydney Olympic Park should be the best place for retailers to start their busy schedule.

Sydney Showground is conveniently serviced by bus, train, ferry and taxi services. The transport services to the venue are also designed to cope effortlessly with numerous visitors.
Sydney Buses operates two daily full-time bus services to and from Sydney Olympic Park to the following locations:

Burwood Westfields

Strathfield Station

Newington

Rydalmere

University of Western Sydney (UWS), Nepean Campus Rydalmere

Parramatta Station

Lidcombe Station

Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf

Route 525 - Parramatta Station to Burwood Station via Olympic Park Station, Rydalmere, UWS Nepean Campus and Newington. Daily full-time service.
Route 401 - Lidcombe Station to Olympic Park Station via Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf and Newington. Daily full-time service
